Update For Man of the Year

I have been nominated for Man of the Year with the Society.  The campaign is an intense 10-week fundraising event that began on March 7thand culminates on May 20th at a gala at the Marriott at Key Center in Cleveland.  One Dollar is One Vote.  Last year this campaign raised $148,000 in 10 weeks.  The (female/male) with the most votes is named Man & Woman of the Year.  Our team’s goal is to raise $100,000.00, and all proceeds support the Society’s mission:  Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Funds raised are making a difference, but we have a ways to go.  Cure rates for some forms of childhood leukemia have risen from 4% in 1960 to 89% in 2006.  However, incidences of lymphoma are on the rise, and leukemia is still one of the leading disease killers of children in our country.

My hope is that you can contribute with a donation.  This week I can earn an extra $500 if I receive the most online donations.  It is all tax deductible and any amount is greatly appreciated!!  If you can help, please donate online at www.mwoy.org/noh and click on the “donate here” link under my picture.

If you have already donated, I can't thank you enough and neither can the 40,000,000 million + people diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or Hodgins disease!  Please pass this along to all of your contacts to support the Northern Ohio Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!  All donations raised through the Man of the Year campaign stay right here in Northern Ohio helping those locally.

Finally, John Knuth of Knuth's Boutique/Shoes is holding a Ladies Night Out on April 12th from 6:30-9:00 at their Pepper Pike store location (Landerwood Plaza 30619 Pinetree Road, Pepper Pike).  They will hold a fashion show with wine and appetizers available.  Knuth's will generously donate 20% of all sales to my Man of the Year campaign to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  PLEASE RSVP if you would like to attend, and bring a friend!  I need to give John a list by April 7th, so please forward your interest to me if you and a friend would like to attend as soon as possible.

Thank you for all of your support!

PLEASE PASS ALONG TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!!  FEEL FREE TO POST THIS INFORMATION ON ANY SOCIAL NETWORKING ACCOUNT (FACEBOOK,ETC) THAT YOU MAY USE TO COMMUNICATE!!!  JUST A SIMPLE CUT AND PASTE CAN LEAD TO INCREASED DONATIONS FOR HELPING THOSE FIGHTING LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA DAILY, FIND A CURE TO LIVE!!!
Hi Everyone,
As many of you know, I am running for Man of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am simply running to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society advance its mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.  I personally have relied on LLS in time of health concerns and as an educator/administrator as students in my district have been diagnosed with Leukemia and Lymphoma.  It is heart wrenching to see the families of these innocent children deal with the shock and horror of such a devastating identification.
The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fundraising competition among individuals in the community who, through their participation, vie for the honor of being the Man or Woman of the Year. The candidates who raise the most funds during the 10-week campaign will be awarded the title of Man & Woman of the Year. Candidates run in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year, who are local blood cancer patient survivors.
After 10 weeks of fundraising, candidates and their guests will join sponsors and other prominent community members at the Grand Finale celebration for the announcement of the Man & Woman of the Year.  Celebrate the outstanding achievements of all candidates while participating in the excitement of live and silent auctions and enjoying fabulous food, cocktails and music.
Man & Woman candidates are goal-oriented and compassionate. Their relentless efforts are focused on making life better for hundreds of thousands of patients battling blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Funds raised by Man & Woman of the Year participants are used for:
Ø Lifesaving blood cancer research
Ø Financial assistance to cover patient expenses for transportation, medication and testing
Ø Free educational materials and events for patients and their families
Ø Local programs such as Family Support Groups and First Connection, a peer-to-peer counseling program
Ø Comprehensive, personalized assistance through the Information Resource Center
It is my hope that you will give us your support.  Man and Woman of the year company sponsors will benefit from publicity, advertising, and will gain visibility among a select group of community influential’s, as well as enhancing their image of public consciousness and community involvement.  Man and Woman of the Year sponsorship is an opportunity for a company to feel pride with both internal and external constituents.   I have a sponsorship package if anyone knows of an organization that might be interested in donating.
If you are interested in making a donation or have some other ideas I would be more than happy to speak with you.  All donations should be made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and dated between March 7, 2011 and May 20, 2011.  Donations can be sent directly to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Northern Ohio Chapter, 23297 Commerce Park, Cleveland, OH 44122.  Please put my name in the memo (Todd Stuart, Man of the Year), if you wish.  If you want to make an online donation, please go to: www.mwoy.org/noh  All you have to do is click under my picture for making a donation and follow the prompts.  The site is secure and through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
I believe this experience will be the most humbling and inspirational in my life.
I look forward to hearing a positive response from you as soon as possible. In case of any queries, please feel free to contact me at 567.203.2950, email me at stuart.todd7@gmail.com, or see my blog for upcoming events and information http://toddstuartmanoftheyear.blogspot.com/
